The Guardians of Liberty Militia is a defensive civilian militia protected by the Second Amendment and affirmed by the binding precedent of District of Columbia vs. Heller in upholding civilian militias are protected by the Second Amendment.

We were created out of the need of a politically independent defensive civilian militia in spite most militias that are entirely partisan. We believe in the American ideals, the cry for liberty our forefathers made and that anyone, regardless of their demographics should be allowed to resist any government tyranny and serve their communities.

We strive to safeguard citizens of all political spectrums (except those refusing protections), race, ethnicity, creeds, and sexual orientations. We are a faith-based Militia. We believe that we are the love everyone, even those we disagree with, but that doesn’t mean we of faith allow ourselves to be trampled upon.

We do not allow those engaging in or defending grooming, pedophilia, or other questionable behaviors to become members including those that support or have participated in the riotous destruction of private property. You are not We, the People.

We also deny membership to any who support or engage in communism, socialism, or any other for of economy or government structure that does not facilitate the 3 unalienable rights enumerated in the Declaration of Independence. You are not We, the People.

We are organized in 31 states and support charters in all 50 states even those that claim to outlaw militias and provide the legal representation necessary, if needed, to protect against persecution in those states.

Being in a well-regulated civilian militia is your right. Being able to keep and bear arms is your right. We realize that some states have attempted to make this right ambiguous but make no mistake that right belongs to We, the People. Do not surrender your rights to ignorance.

Our organization uses the same oath and command structure as the United States Army and Army National Guards. The leader of the organization is a Colonel while State Commanders are Lieutenant Colonels and Majors, and State Zones are led by Captains and First Lieutenants. Staff, supervisors, and managerial roles are handled by NCO style ranks ranging from Corporal to Command Sergeant Majors. Promotions are not something you see in this organization unless you are very active, very knowledgeable, and present yourself with professionalism through your leadership abilities.

We have many armed forces veterans, some active military, many law enforcement veterans, and some active law enforcement within our organization. Because someone was an officer or NCO in the armed forces does not equate to the same rank structure in our organization. It is entirely possible for a prior Major in the US Army to be a private in our organization as their rank here will depend mostly on their involvement and their willingness to devote time to a specific area of leadership.

Our militia became popular in 2021 when the leader, Michael L Wells, was subpoenaed to appear before congress for simply being a militia leader who opposed the rhetoric that “all republicans are traitors” rampant even from politicians after January 6, in spite of being an independent libertarian, himself. It was then made clear by the “Select Committee” the only reason for the subpoena was to ascertain membership records, whereabouts, and which members may be a threat to national security as well as key video evidence as well as photographers that had documented federal agents dressing as “MAGA Protestors” that blended into the crowd encouraging people to enter the US Capitol Building. This was predicated by a visit from the FBI which no arrests were made but strong wording was used to coerce members to turn over their videos and source for videos.

To-date no member of the militia has been arrested in connection with the January 6 event while 3 have had to testify before congress. During the testimony Michael gave, he made 5 arguments very clear on the record:

1. The people have the right to alter or abolish the government (and they were not happy with this)
2. We cannot be threatened with jail time or death
3. We are unaffected by their intimidation tactics
4. Militias should be intendant of politics; else they are nothing more than heavily armed gangs
5. January 6 was a false flag event put on by The Department of Homeland Security which evidence was submitted

Since this event, we have kept our membership roles offline and decentralized. Michael does not have the contact information of more than about 20 members. Although there is more than 28,000 members reporting in by those 20 members who are commanders of their regions, it would be impossible to expose the identities of even a fraction of them without a commander becoming compromised. This is by design and to make it as hard as possible to access the entire membership roster and requires hundreds of subpoenas and warrants to gain access to the entire roster.

Like any well-regulated militia, we have a standard uniform. Any multi-cam or multi-cam-like long-sleeve jacket with matching pants with subdued/black or multi-cam boots and cover to match is our standard uniform. We require name tags, rank, and “GO LIBERTY” to be sewn or velcroed to the jacket AND plate carrier. On plate carriers, the rank should be worn in the center, below the name and organization tapes, while on the jacket, the rank should be on the collar.

In addition, we require 3 other items to be on a member’s person while in uniform:

1. A paper that has your blood type, next of kin (and their contact info), and any medical issues you may have
2. State or Federal ID
3. Your Guardians of Liberty ID # issued by your CO. This number will validate your name, date of birth, rank, and membership status within our organization. This is done with one-way hashing. We will use this information to generate your ID hash and destroy your data. To validate that you are who you say you are in the field, we will require your name, rank, date of birth, which should generate the same hash and if not, there is a problem.

Here is a list and link to all of our official chapters. State Commanding Officers are the leaders of each chapter below and are usually an officer rank from Captain to Lieutenant Colonel depending on how big their chapter is.

These officers have control over their own websites. Some may be complete, some may not. Some may have membership databases, some may not. They can even ask GOLiberty Command to entirely direct their subdomain to another server in their own state.

Each chapter, however, complies with GOLiberty National Command Regulations which are set standards on security and behavioral/professional standards.
